Back in December 2005, I fell in love with Making The Band 3. I had been watching the series since the begining but as it geared toward the end of Season 2 I began to love all of the girls in the house and their talent. After they aired the episode of the BSB Concert I looked all over the internet for the songs performed. Luckily (and unluckily) I found AOD. After I found AOD I ended up finding DRO which is Dawn’ Official Website. After becoming the very first moderator on Dawn’s forum, I started e-mailing Dawn. Talking about music interests, life on Making The Band 3, etc. After being removed as a moderator and some issues with AOD and DRO I decided to take a break from the Making The Band 3 while they were filming and recording their first album. While I was just beginning to understand and learn about webdesign and had started making my first fansite, I decided to create the very first fansite on Dawn. I decided to make it before the premiere of the 3rd Season of Making The Band 3. I created the website and was the only source for not only Dawn but the group as a whole. The site quickly became the most popular site for Danity Kane and I had no idea what it would become. By mid-July 2006 the site had spanned into something I never thought it would’ve been. Getting an unexpected e-mail from Dawn’s brother Frank about them loving the site and wanting to help out really changed it. After being up for a little over a month we received over 5,000 unique visits a day which I was really happy about considering the opening date. Unfortunately, Danity Kane ended up having a hiatus from the summer of 2007 to January 2008. During that period we took a break from the website and went to learn more about websites. Once the new season of Making the Band was starting to begin we went back into full swing! Gaining back all of our old visitors/fans as well as new ones! We wanted to make sure we were back online to give fans the latest updates on Danity Kane not only because of the new season but for their sophomore album: Welcome to the Dollhouse. On August 22, 2006 I met Danity Kane at their very first album signing. That meeting and finally being able to meet Dawn face to face was really what kept me to doing the site. Just her words and how thankful and glad she was for me doing the site and for us to finally meet. Later in the fall of 2006 we created a fanbook for the girls and I mailed that to Dawn after a failed attempt to getting it to her personally. Which resulted in her actually taking the time to call me up to let me know how she felt about the scrapbook and how thankful she was. Telling me how well-made it was and it brought her to tears and things like that are what keep her up made me love doing the site even more. She even took pictures of her with the book for us to see that she received it! You can view them here. The 2nd time I saw Dawn was on March 22, 2008 at TRL. After being taken out of the studio right before the girls came out because I was sitting on the stairs and the girls came out on them I was losing hope in seeing Dawn although she knew I was attending. But then after their appearance they came out of the studio through a hallway that lead into the hallway they held us that were taken out of the studio. Shannon and Aundrea, then D. Woods, and finally Dawn and Aubrey. I saw Dawn down the hallway and although we were told not to talk to the guests I didn’t care. I yelled Dawn’s name and she looked up and started jetting for me and gave me the biggest hug I’ve gotten from her and wouldn’t let me go for like 15 seconds and calling me her baby after me being told to let her go by security - I know right, crazy! I then got yelled at security after the girls left haha. But I finally got them to understand Dawn knew me =P. I also saw her when they were coming out of the TRL building. Dawn came over to say bye and give me a quick hug. Then on May 30, 2008 I attended the Making the Band 4 Tour in Baltimore, MD and I finally got the chance to meet Dawn’s brother Frank who has been helping the site for years and her family. Seeing the girls headline the tour and seeing their growth upclose was incredible. Afterwards, Dawn scheduled for me to finally have some time to spend with her and do a quick interview before she went off to do the meet & greet. We all moved backstage and Dawn was already back there giving hugs to her friends and family. I thanked her for the tickets she left for us and told her she was great on stage while she gave me a hug. When we got our interview I was more than excited and happy. I finally had my personal 1 on 1 time with Dawn and we finally got our interview we’ve been talking about for months and even a Welcome Message! I was incredibly thankful for Dawn to do that and she seemed more than happy to do it. Later that night I recorded the lovely D. Woods giving us a Welcome Message for the site! July 31, 2008 I went to Six Flags in Baltimore, MD to see Dawn again. However, the will call list she made never made it to the will call office. But it was all good…we ended up buying our tickets and met up with Frank and their parents right before the concert. They brought us back to see Dawn and we said Hi! I also gave Dawn a Birthday Box I created that was filled with messages of fans. “I’m so special!” is what came out of Dawn’s mouth before she put it in her dressing room before she forgot it! It wasn’t until then I realized how casual it was seeing Dawn now haha. We spent a few minutes with the girls then they went off to get ready. We stayed for their performance which we caught on the side of the stage and seeing Dawn’s mom just gettin it to DK was a really exciting evening! Afterwards, I ended up getting a Welcome Message from Aundrea before they left! I also said goodbye to Dawn and thanked her for everything.
